Sarah & Teddy’s Fun North York Engagement Session with Their Fur Baby

Some engagement sessions are about finding the prettiest location. Others are about telling a story. Sarah and Teddy’s engagement session in North York was definitely the second.
From our very first conversation, it was clear that these two are happiest outdoors. Whether they’re camping, exploring hiking trails, spending weekends by the lake, or simply enjoying nature together with their adorable pup, the outdoors is where they feel most like themselves. So instead of choosing a location just because it looked beautiful, we chose one that reflected who they are as a couple.
This hidden gem in North York, with its winding trails, open green spaces, and quiet softball fields, gave us everything we needed for a relaxed and meaningful engagement session. There was plenty of room to walk, laugh, play with their fur baby, and simply enjoy being together.
As a Toronto wedding photographer, my goal is never to force couples into stiff poses. The best photos happen when you’re comfortable enough to forget the camera is there. Throughout the session, Sarah and Teddy spent more time talking, laughing, and playing than posing, and that’s exactly what made these images feel so genuine.
Their sweet pup was, of course, the star of the show for a few moments. Including your dog or pet in your engagement photos is such a wonderful way to make your session even more personal, especially if they’re an important part of your everyday life together.
One of my favourite things about engagement photography is creating images that truly reflect a couple’s personality. Years from now, these photographs won’t just remind Sarah and Teddy of what they looked like—they’ll remind them of who they were during this exciting season of life.
I absolutely can’t wait to photograph their summer wedding and continue telling the next chapter of their story. If their engagement session was any indication, it’s going to be filled with genuine laughter, beautiful moments, and lots of love.
If you’re looking for a Toronto engagement photographer or Toronto wedding photographer who focuses on natural, candid moments instead of awkward posing, I’d love to help tell your story in a way that feels authentic to you.
Ready to plan your engagement session? I’d love to hear about your story and create photographs that feel uniquely yours.
